Tom Windle has 35 years of leadership, managerial, geological and operational experience developed primarily in the North Sea.

 

In 1980, Mr. Windle joined Amoco UK as an exploration geologist and worked all of the North Sea basins and West Africa - Congo Brazzaville before becoming Special Projects Coordinator (1987) for Amoco UK’s Exploration Acquisitions, Farm-in and Divestment team. In 1989, Mr. Windle was appointed Exploration Operations Manager with a staff of 20 personnel administering an annual operated budget of $250 million. Mr. Windle became Amoco’s Central North Sea Exploration Manager (1992) where he guided a team of 17 geoscientists, engineers and technicians on behalf of some 20 joint venture operated assets involving 40 companies and liaised with the UK Government’s Department of Trade and Industry. During his tenure, three fields were discovered and Amoco acquired Sun Oil’s Central North Sea exploration assets. In 1995, he joined Amoco UK’s Strategic Planning and Economics Group responsible for exploration assets. Following the merger of BP and Amoco (1998), Mr. Windle elected to leave and formed his own company Ariadne Business Consultants Ltd. (1998 – present) where with a team of six he provided personnel business development courses to a variety of companies including BP, CNRI and PGS. He was also a Director of Actis Geoscience Ltd. (1998 – 2003), a geotechnical consultancy and Associate Lecturer in Business Strategy for the Open University Business School (1999 – 2005).

 

In 2003 Tom was a co-founder of WHAM Energy a Southern North Sea exploration company. Tom guided the company through the initial phase of exploration licence acquisitions to becoming listed on the UK AIM market. WHAM was bought out in 2007 at a 60% premium on the prevailing share price by Venture Production. Since that time Tom has worked with a start-up team Panther Resources Ltd., and continues to provide assistance to businesses through Ariadne Business Consultants Ltd.
